The McKenzie family founded McKenzie's BBQ in 1918 in Jackson, TN. Marvin McKenzie cultivated a welcoming atmosphere while serving quality food to the community. After Marvin's passing, his son John McKenzie took over the business, which he maintained until his passing. Amin then stepped in and has successfully continued the family legacy.
McKenzie's BBQ is known for our mouthwatering BBQ and healthy vegetables, all seasoned to perfection. Each dish is cooked daily and served fresh! We have preserved the original recipe without any changes. Our vegetables are prepared Mediterranean style, seasoned with pure olive oil and onions—bacon grease or any type of fat is never used!

Over the years, we have been fortunate to have dedicated customers who have savored our food for decades. One notable example is Mr. Lawrence Jones, who has been a loyal patron since 1950.

We stopped here while driving to Nashville and the food was EXCELLENT! The service was excellent too! You can tell they care about their customers and they care about their food. We go the pulled pork plate with green beans, collard greens and Mac 'n Cheese. Even my picky 6 year old absolutely loved the food!

The food is good, and they have daily specials for plate lunches with eat-in or takeout. The options to order other items are endless. There's so much to choose from. Today, I had the chicken fried steak with cabbage and macaroni but will def order a made to go order while in town.
